Cookies and preferences

How XIXOUT remembers your selected language and appearance, and how you can change them.

This information page is not a new version of accepted terms or confirmation of legal approval. Legal documents remain separately at edition 2.3.2.

The choices we remember

After a language selection, the application stores xixout_locale (cs, en, de or ru). After an appearance selection, it stores xixout_theme (light or dark). Both expire after at most 365 days; a browser may remove them earlier. They contain no token holdings or room permissions.

The appearance cookie is HttpOnly and cannot be accessed by client-side JavaScript. The language cookie is not HttpOnly so the language can also be determined on an error screen. Both are SameSite=Lax and Secure in production mode.

Analytics and technical protection

The application code of this preview adds no analytics or marketing trackers and uses neither localStorage nor sessionStorage for preferences. This does not mean the browser has no cookies: hosting and protected-preview access may use their own technical mechanisms.

Sign-in, if activated, has its own security cookies. Their actual scope must be described for the specific deployment before the network is opened. This release does not enable optional analytics.

Changing and removing preferences

You can select your language and appearance again below at any time. You can also remove stored cookies in your browser settings for this website. Without saved preferences, the defaults are Czech and light appearance; an explicit language selected in the page URL takes precedence. Removing security cookies may end a sign-in session.

Your preferences

These controls change the actual stored preferences. They are not consent to analytics or marketing.
